Australian Government grant

The Australian Government has offered the organic industry with up to $100,000 in grant funding—to be matched by industry contributions—to develop a range of tools to improve export market access:

  • development of a Market Knowledge Report on premium markets for Australian commodities
  • delivery of a Market Guide for how the organic industry can differentiate their products in competitive export markets
  • analysis of the Market Readiness needs specific to Australian farmers, training and up skilling required and most cost-effective delivery options

The grant is offered on the basis that industry will match the contributions and deliver:

  • development of organic AHECC codes and market value surveys to enable quantum of organic exports to the accurately baselined and measured on an annual basis for five years
  • a 5 year Australian Organics Industry Exports Strategy, including priorities, encompassing target markets by commodity, country and region to align government, industry and commercial efforts
  • extension and engagement of the industry in the development of this knowledge and priority setting including an Industry Summit
  • an Implementation Plan for the Australian Organics Industry Exports Strategy
  • a mid-term and final evaluation of the implementation of the 5 year strategy
